Where should I travel in South America during our winter?

I'm looking to go for 10 days in January or February. I like to travel cheap to pack and meet people. A beautiful beach and Rio would be great, but I'm really looking for an unforgettable experience ... not necessarily a relaxing holiday. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

What will be the summer here (in South America) when it is winter in the northern hemisphere. Go to Amazonia (Colombia, Brazil, Peru)! It's well worth it! I also enjoyed travel in Peru, Machu Picchu, Cuzco, Lake Titicaca (Peru, Bolivia), arequipe and Pisco (poor man's Galapagos). If you arrive in southern Argentina, go to Ushuaia in Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, or both. You can also go to Antarctica from here (I did and got a ticket last minute for a very low price!) Ecuador is interesting, especially the huge Sunday market in Otavalo. I also like the Museum of Ecuador in Quito. By Of course, Colombia is beautiful with few tourists and most locals kind in South America!
