Loads Fun With My Skimboard

Summertime is here and one of my favorite things to do at the beach is skimboarding.
While it probably is not as popular as surfing. I can spend hours at the beach riding my skim board. Make sure you have waxed your board, you can use surfers wax there are many brands available some of the wax I have used are bubble gum, sex wax and sticky bumps. Water temp makes a big difference in the type of wax you use. Buy a hard wax for warm water and a soft wax for cold water.

Once you get the hang of using your skim board you will have loads of fun at the beach.
Here are some tips:

Getting on the board will be a little tricky at first, if you can, make sure you are ruining with the wind and not against it. You gain more speed that way and will not wipe out as much.

So you simply start out at the shore and wait for a good wave while holding your skimboard at your side. Once the wave comes ashore and starts to recede you start running into it at and angle and throw the board down into the water and as the board glides along the surface you step onto the board while trying to keep your balance it is loads of fun.
