Tejita Playa Tenerife - Sea View Property

Tejita Beach is located on the southern coast of Tenerife between El Medano and coats. It is also known locally as Red Mountain beach or Playa MontaƱa Roja, bearing these names of the mountain in the eastern end of the beach. In the surrounding area has been recognized as ecological importance and has been designated by the government as a protected nature reserve.

The beach is approximately one kilometer long and golden sandy gray not normally associated with a natural beach in the Canary Islands. Unlike the other beaches in Tenerife, this beach is completely natural and has been formed over millions of years wind-eroded particles of rock thin Red Mountain and the surrounding terrain. The particles are deposited along the beach by wind and sand formed by the action of ocean waves.

The beach area is a totally natural environment with very little development, south of the beach there is a small wooden hut beach, serving drinks and snacks. Apart from a few sun loungers and umbrellas near the beach this beach cottage is relatively underdeveloped and not fully commercial.

There are few old buildings in the eastern end of the beach, the original control tower for the old airfield Red Lano still remains and there is a small terminal building a submarine cable connecting old St. Louis in Senegal for the French cable network. There is also a well abandonment. Apparently there are plans to remove those buildings to be restored original natural beauty of the area, but on the other hand, one could say these buildings add to the character of this unique landscape.

Be open to the elements this beach can sometimes be carefree at times strong winds make big waves breaking on the beach is an impressive sight. At present the beach is very popular with the wind, the kite, body and board surfers.

However, on a sunny day with a gentle breeze of the beach must surely have been one of the best beaches anywhere in the natural world. The scale and beauty of this beach can only be truly appreciated by a visit.

The beach is relatively unknown except to the premises so full and there never has been affected by tourism. The busiest times are Sunday and if you are patient enough to wait for sunset, mountains Red takes a bizarre but spectacular rust-colored glow.

This beach is popular with naturalists, but most of them use a small sandy cove across from the beach hut. It cautioned, however, not all naturalists are so shy and spread along the beach, but most visitors are families and there is a very relaxed atmosphere.

Camp on this beach is restricted to protect the Red Mountain Nature Reserve, which has a natural habitat for many types of flora and fauna.

The beach can be reached by taking the highway TF-643 which runs along the back of the beach among the coats and El Medano, which can easily accessible from the main highway TF-1. There is parking on both sides of the road and the beach is within walking distance. From Los Cristianos and Las Americas can take 470 or 483 bus services.
If you visit this beach, please leave it as you found it for others to enjoy.
