A portable umbrella protects children from sunburn

Is your portable umbrella and packed in the car? What about sunscreen and brimmed hats? If not, it is time to review the packing list for your summer vacation. After all, nothing can ruin a family vacation at the beach fast furious sunburn.

Apart from making it uncomfortable and miserable, sunburn can also cause premature aging and melanoma, most common form of cancer in the United States. Fortunately, you can avoid the misery and long-term effects of sunburn following these simple tips and including some who have items in your beach bag.

* Check with the local meteorological station to determine the UV index of the day, which is determined by the time of year, latitude, longitude and local cloud cover. The higher the UV index, the greater the amount of harmful UV radiation reaching the earth. If the UV index is high, you may want to skip the beach and head to the movies.

* If you opt for the beach, remember that the sun is most intense between 10 am to 4 pm, so it's best to plan an afternoon trip to the beach afernoon and avoid exposure to the sun more intense.

* Slather your kids with a sunscreen with an SPF (Sun protection factor) of at least 45. Reapply sunscreen after at least 15 minutes before going outdoors and reapply it to the children out of the water. Remember apply sunscreen to the ears, nose and neck. And do not forget! Mothers need sunscreen, too.

* Package broad-brimmed hats all members of the family. The top of the head receives more direct sun exposure than any other body part.

* Note that sunglasses not just a fashion accessory. Children need to protect your eyes from UV rays, too, so make sure each one has its own pair of glasses sun.

* If you are planning to spend several hours on the beach, where your children can enjoy a break from the oppressive sun. Pack a large beach umbrella notebook that allows children to rest and nap in comfort.

The region of America Camping Association estimates that children receive about 80 percent of its life sun exposure before the age of eighteen, so it is essential to protect them from the sun as much as possible. So next time your family goes to the beach, spread sunscreen and launch a portable sunshade in the car - you give your children the best possible gift - a memorable childhood and a healthy adulthood.
